Our gynecology services are welcoming and non-invasive. We always take the patients’ comfort into consideration and it comes first. It’s important for women to have a regular gynecologist to keep up with their current health condition. Especially for women that are sexually active and/or looking to become a parent soon. A gynecologist can find any risk factors before they become serious, and help treat problems before they become worse. Below, you can read about the gynecology services we offer here in El Paso.
Well Woman Exam and Pap Smear
During a Well Woman Examination, the main areas of focus are the breasts, pelvic and a Pap smear. This exam is meant to help your gynecologist catch any high risk factors in your reproductive health. A Pap smear involves collecting a sample of the cells along the walls of your cervix. The doctor will then test those cells for any abnormalities. Some women are advised to have a Well Woman Exam and Pap test annually. Topics covered include sexual health and contraception, or any other issues you wish to address during your visit.
Menopause Management and Hormone Replacement Therapy
Menopause can start in women as young as 30 years old. There are a variety of symptoms that include, but are not limited to, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, low sex drive, lack of energy, insomnia and weight gain. These symptoms can be caused by lower estrogen levels. We offer hormone replacements as well as consultations on the benefits and risks of taking them.
Menstrual Bleeding Disorders
A regular period occurs monthly and lasts about eight days. Bleeding that lasts longer than eight days, heavy flow, or irregular timing (missed months) is considered abnormal. These symptoms can be more common than you think and be due to numerous causes. There are ways to regain regularity; such as altering your life style, birth control and hormone therapy. Consult with a doctor to learn about alternatives and what would be best for you.
Endometrial ablation is a procedure that is usually comfortable and highly effective for most women. This procedure eliminates the lining of the uterus that produces menstrual flow. This is offered to decrease heavy blood flow and the need for a hysterectomy.
Bladder Health and Continence
Urinary continence is a condition in which someone cannot hold urine in their bladder, causing leaks throughout their day. People with this condition have little to no control over their urinary sphincter. This is a common problem that a lot of people go through. We offer evaluations and therapy to help you regain that sense of control in your life.
