What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a dermal filler that corrects lines and wrinkles in the face. It is made from a biodegradable gel composed of hyaluronic acid. It can last several months or more depending on your skin, the treated area, as well as how it’s applied. Jevederm could be a solution for unwanted lines, but it’s best to consult with a specialist before deciding. A specialist can help you realize your beauty goals and how to reach them.
Are you a Good Candidate for Juvederm?
The best way to find out whether or not you’re a good candidate for Juvederm is to simply receive a consultation. During a consultation a specialist will analyze your face to see if Juvederm is your best option, or suggest other options to you. You can address any concerns you may have and the specialist will also have questions for you, to better understand how to assist you.
How are Fillers Administered? Does it hurt?
Juvederm, as well as most fillers, are administered via injection. Small needles are used for these injections and they are only applied to the targeted area. Patients usually experience little to no pain, but if you feel that you may be sensitive to pain then you can request cold packs from the doctor before the treatment. This filler treatment is designed to ensure as much comfort as possible, so numbing agents aren’t typically applied. Fillers should only be administered by a trained professional, such as our staff here in El Paso.
What are the Side Effects?
After receiving the treatment, you may be subjected to redness and swelling almost right away. Other common side effects are tenderness/mild pain, firmness, lumps, bruising, itching and discoloration. Most side effects are short term, lasting a week or less. If your side effects continue longer than seven days, or you are finding them to be more serious, contact your doctor right away.
What are the Results?
Individual results vary, but you should expect to see results right away. Although it may take a week for swelling and other side effects to go away, generally the results are instant. Depending on your level of satisfaction with the results and what you plan during the consultation, you may want to return for more injections at a later time. Below are some before and after photos that, as stated above, can vary depending on your skin and how the injections were administered. You should, however, be able to expect something similar to the results shown.
